Adam Maniscalco is an Alabama attorney and founding partner of Baxley Maniscalco Attorneys at Law who focuses primarily on family law, including divorce, child custody, and support matters. He leads the firm’s family law practice and regularly handles contested cases involving complex parenting, financial, and household issues.

He also has experience in personal injury matters, including car accidents and wrongful death claims.

In addition to his private practice, Adam serves as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of Alabama, where he enforces child support obligations in Calhoun and Cleburne Counties. These roles give him direct, practical experience with how Alabama courts evaluate credibility, enforce legal obligations, and make decisions that affect families.

    Practice Areas

    Family Law

Adam’s primary practice is representing individuals in family law matters, particularly in cases that require a clear strategy and strong presentation in court.

    His work includes:

He works with clients to identify the strongest facts in their case and present them in a way the court can clearly understand, with an emphasis on stability, consistency, and long-term outcomes.

    Personal Injury

In addition to his family law practice, Adam represents clients in personal injury matters involving:

His work in this area focuses on building a clear understanding of liability, documentation, and how cases are evaluated by insurance companies and courts.

    Family Law Leadership

Adam leads the firm’s family law practice, directing case strategy from initial filing through resolution. His role centers on identifying the issues that will determine the outcome of the case and structuring the presentation of those issues at each stage of the process.

    He works with clients to:

    • Define the core issues the court must decide
    • Develop a plan for addressing those issues through filings, hearings, and evidence
    • Prepare for key stages of the case, including temporary hearings, mediation, and trial
    • Evaluate when resolution is appropriate and when the case should proceed forward
    • Ensure that the case remains focused on the factors that will influence the court’s decision

His focus is on keeping cases organized, purposeful, and directed toward a clear outcome.

    Approach to Cases

Adam approaches family law cases by focusing on how decisions are made by judges in the real world.

He works with clients to shift their perspective from what feels important to what will actually influence the result. That often means narrowing the case down to a smaller set of issues and addressing those issues directly, rather than trying to prove everything at once.

He also emphasizes timing and judgment—when to take a position, when to resolve an issue, and when to let a point go if it does not meaningfully affect the outcome.

Throughout the process, he helps clients understand what matters at each stage, what risks are present, and how each decision fits into the larger structure of the case.

The goal is not to react to the case as it unfolds, but to move through it with a clear understanding of where it is going and a strategy for accomplishing the client’s goals and achieving what is most important for their family and future.

Role in Government & the Court System

In addition to his private practice, Adam serves as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of Alabama, where he handles child support enforcement matters in Calhoun and Cleburne Counties. His work involves establishing obligations, addressing non-compliance, and appearing in court on enforcement proceedings.

He also serves as the Prosecutor for the City of Oxford, regularly appearing in court and handling matters that require the evaluation of evidence, witness credibility, and legal standards.

Earlier in his career, Adam worked within the local court system, including clerking for both the District Attorney’s Office and the Family Court of Calhoun and Cleburne Counties. That experience provided early exposure to how cases are reviewed, how decisions are made, and how outcomes are shaped at the court level.

Together, these roles reflect ongoing, practical involvement in the court system and provide a working understanding of how legal issues are evaluated, resolved, and enforced in Alabama.

Adam also serves as the attorney for the Calhoun County 911 Board, which ensures the quality of emergency services for the county’s residents.

    Community Leadership

Adam is deeply committed to the Oxford community and serves on the board of the Oxford Education Foundation.
