Practice Focus
Sydney is an Alabama and Georgia licensed attorney at Baxley Maniscalco Attorneys at Law who focuses on family law matters, including divorce, child custody, and support issues. She works within the firm’s family law division under the leadership of Adam Maniscalco.
She regularly represents clients in contested custody and divorce cases and prepares matters for hearing and trial in Alabama courts. Her work is centered on helping clients navigate the practical steps of a case while ensuring that each matter is prepared clearly and thoroughly for court.
Role in Case Handling
Sydney manages a full caseload of family law matters, including both contested and uncontested cases, under the leadership and strategic oversight of Adam Maniscalco.
She works directly with clients throughout their case and is a zealous advocate.
Her responsibilities include:
- Preparing pleadings and court filings
- Managing discovery and case development
- Working with clients to organize facts, timelines, and supporting information
- Preparing for hearings, mediation, and trial
- Trying contested family law cases in court
Her role is to ensure that each case is actively managed, consistently developed, and fully prepared at every stage, while aligning with the broader strategy of the firm’s family law practice.
Approach to Cases
Sydney approaches family law cases with a focus on steady case management, preparation, and follow-through.
She works with clients to keep their case organized and moving forward, helping them focus on the issues that need to be addressed at each stage rather than reacting to every development as it arises. Her approach emphasizes consistency—ensuring that filings, evidence, and client communication all align as the case progresses.
In contested matters, she prepares cases with the expectation that they may be presented in court, making sure that the facts, documentation, and timeline are clear and ready for review.
Her focus is on maintaining structure throughout the case so that each step builds toward a clear and workable outcome.
Experience & Common Cases
Sydney works with clients on a range of family law matters, including:
- Divorce (contested and uncontested)
- Child custody and visitation disputes
- Child support establishment, enforcement, and modification
- Post-divorce modifications
- Adoptions
She handles both straightforward matters and contested cases requiring preparation for hearings, mediation, and trial.
"I practice domestic and family law because I believe that people deserve to have their family prioritized. The cases and situations that I handle don't have hypothetical or abstract outcomes. These are real situations that affect people's day-to-day lives, where they live, who they see, how safe they feel, and how their kids grow up. These things matter to everyone (not just my clients), and these clients deserve to have someone who truly believes in that. We believe that less than full justice for our clients is no justice at all."
